In 1989 I was fortunate enough to tour Kenya. Many life changing memories sprang from that trip, not the least of which was climbing up to a wooden platform to hand feed Daisy Rothschild. As she wound her tongue around my forearm to gently take the carrot I was offering, I was awestruck by the beauty and the miracle of this creation and so began my love affair with giraffes.
